A recent presenter at a conference I attended was talking about her company’s customer-centric marketing program that is based on a strong data foundation. But she still encouraged using intuition and testing your hypotheses for certain campaigns. If you think customers will respond one way, test your hypotheses with a small campaign, then feed your results back into the next campaign model. That standard, scientific method might evolve – but it will never go away completely.
